Audition for the Court of Everlore

The Veil is breaking. Everlore is calling.

Beyond the pages, beyond the ballroom, beyond the mortal world, the realm of Everlore is beginning to fall.

The Veil between worlds is weakening, and the Court of Everlore is searching for new members to stand with them.

Are you a ruler, rebel, warrior, witch, scholar, siren, assassin, fae, healer, seer, knight, villain, chosen one…or something else entirely?

This is your invitation to audition.

What is the Court of Everlore?

The Court of Everlore is part of the immersive storyline of the Veilfall Ball at Romantasy Fair 2026. During the event, selected cosplayers will become members or allies of the Court and take part in the Opening Ceremony.

This is not just a costume competition. We are looking for people who can bring a character to life, stay in role, and help tell the story of Everlore.

Who can audition?

Anyone can audition wtih:

• A romantasy character from a book, series or fantasy world
• An original character created by you
• A citizen, ruler, warrior, scholar, magical being or other figure connected to Everlore
• A character from another realm who has a reason to help save Everlore

What should your audition video include?

Your audition video should be filmed:

• In costume
• In character
• As if your character is responding to a summon from Everlore

In your video, please show or mention:

• Who your character is
• What kind of power, skill, knowledge or influence they bring
• Why they would help Everlore

You do not need expensive costumes or professional video equipment. We are mainly looking for atmosphere, creativity, character work and storytelling.

Video requirements

Please follow these guidelines:

• Maximum length: 60 seconds
• Format: vertical video preferred
• Language: English
• Make sure your face and costume are clearly visible
• Make sure we can hear you clearly if you speak
• You may use music, props, editing or simple effects, as long as your character remains the focus

What happens if you are selected?

A small number of applicants will be chosen to join the Court of Everlore during Romantasy Fair.

Selected participants will receive:

• Free access to Romantasy Fair
• A role in the Opening Ceremony
• The chance to perform as part of the Court of Everlore
• A place in the official cosplay storyline of the event

Because selected participants will take part in the Opening Ceremony, you should be comfortable being on stage, speaking in front of an audience and staying in character.

Judging criteria

Submissions will be judged based on:

• Creativity
• Costume and styling
• Character portrayal
• Connection to the world of Everlore
• Storytelling
• Stage presence
• Suitability for the Opening Ceremony

How to submit

To audition, send us your video via by creating a post, reel or tiktok on your socials. Include in your caption that you are auditioning to be a part of Romantasy Fair 2026. Make sure to tag @romantasyfair in your submission. Without a tag, we will not be able to include your submission!

Can I audition with an existing romantasy character?

Yes. You may cosplay an existing romantasy character

Can I create my own character?

Yes. Original characters welcome.

Do I need professional cosplay experience?

No. We welcome both experienced cosplayers and newer creators. We are looking for creativity, confidence and character.

Do I need to speak in the video?

We strongly recommend it, because selected participants will need to be comfortable speaking on stage. However, you may also include narration, written text or a dramatic visual performance if that suits your character better.

Can I audition as a group?

Yes.

Is there an age limit?

The minimum age to attend Romantasy Fair is 18, so all contestants must be over 18.

What will I need to do during the Opening Ceremony?

Selected participants will take part in a short staged moment during the Opening Ceremony of Romantasy Fair. This may include standing with the Court, speaking a short line, reacting in character, walking on stage, or helping bring the story of Everlore to life.
